Did you catch my 40 bags in 40 days challenge? Go HERE to read about it, if not.
And just in case you doubted that I actually had a list of 40 spaces to clean out ...
here it is:
So there! :)~ See...? Not so hard.
Still no one out there brave (or crazy) enough to join me!?!

I'll take some of Number 2 and 11 please. =)
ReplyDeleteHa! Do you really want/need more random utensils in your kitchen!? Or are you gonna clear yours OUT and then replace them with mine..? :)~
ReplyDelete...and you've got some weight to gain before you can inherit any of my clothes, friend! :-)
Yes.
ReplyDeleteNo.
Whatever.
=)
Wow! I just came across this! LOVE this! Starting TOMORROW! :)

Found this on pinterest. Shared it on my blog. Am doing my own starting today! Thanks for the {much needed} inspiration!
ReplyDeleteOoh! Love this idea. Totally doing it. I think I should start with the diapers... (I'm a cloth diaper addict. Is there a 12 step program for that?)
ReplyDeleteGood for you!! You don't need a 12 step program.
DeleteI read about this on Pinterest and I LOVE the idea. What do you do with the stuff you 'throw away'.... do you literally put it in the trash? Do you donate it? Do you give it away, say on 'Freecycle'? That is always the hard part for me. I hate to just waste things that might be useful to someone else. I'm going to try this! Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteHi Anne,
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't literally put it in the trash ... (well, maybe some of it - the stuff that SHOULD be there!:)~ Otherwise, most of my "stuff" went to Goodwill. And some I've got in the garage, ready for a garage sale. :)~
I just came by your blog by chance, and LOVE this idea! I am going to give it a go when I can!!! Probably next week!!!
ReplyDeleteJust found this on Pinterest and loved the idea. I have now adjusted your list to fit my life/home and will be featuring it on my blog. Hopefully some of my friends will join in.
ReplyDeleteHow did you fit it to your home....?
DeleteOk...I've been thinking about this ever since you posted it and my friend Melissa (just one comment up) has finally convinced me that it's time to get down to business! Luv ya lady...you are awesome & inspiring!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! And it helps SO much when you get overwhelmed! I'm with Kristina - will you PLEASE tell us what font you used on the list? It is SO precious!!
ReplyDeleteSorry Anonymous ...
ReplyDeleteTakes me longer to reply to you gals who don't have a "no reply" email! :)-
All of the fonts I use are from kevinandamanda.com :-)
You totally inspired me!!! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThis is great. Pretty sure I'll have to do this before I move in the spring. With this small apartment I'll have less than 40 but still feels nice to purge/give some stuff away rather than moving it... to a new place... where it will fight for space with all my other stuff.
ReplyDeleteI just found this on pinterest and really love it. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI love Pintrest, Thanks for the idea. I'll see how I go.
ReplyDeleteSmarty Pants! What a fabulous idea! Maybe you can teach an old dog new tricks after all!
ReplyDeletewhat font is that??? wow!
ReplyDeletewould love to see before..or maybe just after pics for inspiration!

ReplyDeleteCould you please tell me where you get your fonts? I love them! Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteI am so totally in this! awesome idea!
ReplyDeleteI so so doing this! 40 bags in 40 days! I need to and I will. I will be blogging about my plan soon! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteAfter our move last summer, my husband challenged me to give him a box of stuff for Goodwill every day for a month. I only made it fifteen days, but am ready to tackle those other fifteen boxes now. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great way to simplify! LOVE it. Found you on pinterest and featuring this idea on my FB page today :)

I started the list today. We'll see how far I make it! Thanks for the idea. Breaking it down into 40 days makes it seem a whole lot more attainable.
ReplyDeleteLove this challenge! I am in the process of decluttering 16 years worth of stuff in my basement - deadline is jan 31!
ReplyDeleteWould love you to share this at our multi blog link party on Jan 31 - Imagine the Impossibilities Challenge.

Curious.. did you do it? And when,...? Is it time to do it all over again yet? How much amazing stuff did you find that you forgot you had?
ReplyDeleteI'm going to do this!
ReplyDeleteOn it!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm doing this for lent. Working on my list right now.
ReplyDeleteVicki,
ReplyDeleteAre you on Ravelry? The She-Knits podcast group is also doing this through Lent. I cheated and started before Lent because I was just grumpy and took it out on the playroom.
This is brilliant!!!! Going to start my list tonight!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for this! I started with the bathroom vanity and realised pretty much all of the medication we'd been hoarding was expired :/
ReplyDeleteLove the scarf on the hangars... and the printables! I'm all about lists and knocking them out to keep me productive! Thanks for sharing this fantastic list! (Found your blog link on somewhatsimple.com!)
ReplyDeleteStarting my list tonight. Starting day 1 tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration!!
I'm a pack-rat, unfortunately, so this challenge is good for me! Sad thing is I could most likely get half the bags from just the "harry potter" closet... Well... Pray for me I'm going in... and if you don't hear from me for a few days, send in the cookies! :D
ReplyDeleteI have to tell you, I identify with your post - I too am a pack-rat! How did you do on your quest?
DeleteI'm starting today, I really love the motivating pics posted on this site, and would love, love, love my home to be organized!
My summer vacation challenge! Thank you for the inspiration! I need help in the 'throw away' mentality but I can do it.
ReplyDeleteThank you to Anonymous (quote from June 11 post)for expressing my sentiments so perfectly. Especially the second part. "Thank you for the inspiration! I need help in the 'throw away' mentality but I can do it."
ReplyDeleteReally!!! #33 Candy Drawer???? Wut's dat? !!! I'll have to substitute some other spot for that one and probably a couple others I either don't have or have already done.
The beginning of a cycle with the first 40 days starts NOW
Love this! I'm on day two and it reminds me of the decluttering I did when I started flylady.com. Who knew I still had so much clutter!
ReplyDeleteWe move every so many years cause of the military and we have lots of boxes that seem to keep "traveling" with us that should go away. I have been trying to go through them for awhile, I even thought while my son was visiting his grandparents I would get them done (YEAH RIGHT). Hopefully with this list I can get not only the boxes done, but the house done before our next move. Thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteBrenda you have the same issues I have. Got to love those military moves and the unpacked boxes that keep traveling with you. My "traveling" boxes are currently cluttering up the garage.
DeleteI am currently working on "traveling boxes" some go as far back as from my childhood...Sad but true. I love getting into a box from a previous marriage and realizing I can purge all of it or at least most of it! Fantastic feeling moving forward.
DeleteThat i s a great to do list! I am going to get started this afternoon. I want to totally declutter before we move across the country!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to!
ReplyDeleteThank you for this! Found it on pinterest and I'm featuring it on my blog too!
ReplyDeleteSo happy to have found your list! It gives me something to go on. I did clean out under the bed on Saturday and boy what a mess. I take this challenge in the hopes of regaining my space one bag at a time! Found you on pinterest!
ReplyDeleteI have done this 2x since moving from Missouri this summer. 1st time was all of the extra clothes and things I didn't feel I needed back in Texas. Once we got to Texas, I sorted boxes by what I had opened and reclosed and those that still had original movers' tape. (long story short - I moved to missouri from Texas to a small place - too small for my 3 bedroom house full of stuff then moved back to Texas less than a year later with the same unpacked boxes.) I figured if I hadn't opened them in Missouri it wasn't worth opening in my temporary house. After awhile though I got tired of a room full of boxes, so a friend of mine and I opened each box, threw away, gave away and put away 80%. Some of it will probably get a 3rd purge when we finally get to my permanent home. I can't wait
ReplyDeleteOMG, this is the best idea!!!!! Something I can manage, one bag a day and NOT the entire house. Going to start this quest ASAP!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to start this today for Lent and blog about it! Great idea!
ReplyDeleteWhat size are your bags?
