Not really sure why. It just called out to me, I guess! :)~
So, I decided to help it out and make it cute.
First item of business: cover the chrome.
I taped off the top half of the clipboard and spray painted it ....
(I wanted a dark color, and I didn't have any plain bronze paint, so I just tried this!)
It looked kinda creepy when it was wet!
But it actually ended up looking pretty neat-o.
Husband keeps telling me how cool it looks.
I'm not sure whether that's a good thing or a bad thing.
Husband's not exactly gifted in the crafty/creative department! Ha!
Next stop: craft paper.
I had this nifty book of paper in my craft closet.
I like the papers in this book because they all look antiqued and vintage-y.
Just my style! :-)
I chose these two pieces: one for the front, one for the back.
I traced around the clipboard, then cut out the paper and modpodged it on.
(For the back, I used a hole punch to make holes for the screws to fit through.)
Craft paper/1st layer: complete.
Next, I personalized it a bit by adding stickers, embellishments, and photos with words and sayings that are special and inspiring to me.
More mod podge over the top!
And here's how my "inspirational clipboard" turned out! I love it!!!
Now that I'm a blogging maniac (haha), I needed a place to keep all of my blogging thoughts organized (and I am a teacher, people -- gotta have my lesson plans!)
...so I printed this out and snap!
This was such a fun project - and super easy!
I'm already making plans for some more. I think my job-share partner and I could use some "teacher versions" in our classroom ...
