So I have several old windows (picked up at antique sales or salvaged by my handy, helpful husband at random job sites) that I've repurposed around my house ... and I thought it was about time to share them with you.
If you don't mind, that is.... :-)
For Chapter 1 of this "series" ... we're looking at a window that's now repurposed as a photo display.Nope. This isn't a "new" idea -- I know this has been done before. Probably in more places than I can count, but this is my version ... I hope you like it!
I started with an old square window.
Which I broke the glass out of. (On purpose.)
(That's kinda fun to do ... ever tried it? Good stress reliever, too:)~
Then handy, helpful husband cut chicken wire (LOVE that stuff!) and attached it to the back of the frame. He hammered these little clips in - but a staple gun would have done the trick much more easily I'm sure.
Maybe he was mad at his staple gun that day ... I really don't know.
But regardless, this worked out just fine.
Here's the view from the front...
Next, I tore strips of fabric I had leftover from my swatch portrait project in Lucy's nursery, threaded them through the wire, and tied them in bows.
Almost done! .......
To finish, I used itty-bitty clothespins (from the craft store) to hang some of my favorite photos.
Finished product: cute and functional! :-)
Stick around to see what I did with my window in Chapter 2 next week, will you...?
I'd love it!
