Burlap Bunting ... Simple Fall Decor

A whole lotta great words in that title...
I just love those words, don't you?

I think I might cover my house in burlap if I could figure out a way.
I did a post about bunting-lovin' a while back, and I've been dying to make my own since then ...
And SIGN ME UP for anything that's simple! (no brainer!)

So ....
Do I have you hooked on my project yet?
How about now...?

First of all, how amazed/excited am I to even have a project to show you today!?!
Boy-oh-boy ... my sweet new craft room and I have been missin' each other terribly.
Busy life ... how I loathe you.

Bottom line .... if I can pull off this project right now, I promise YOU can, too!!!

Here goes.
(Oh, and disclaimer:  most of these photos were taken with my phone ... remember the other day when I mentioned leaving my camera in my classroom over the weekend?  Yep.  Wasn't kidding.  But the iphone came through pretty well, I think.:-)

I started with burlap, a pennant template, and a rotary cutter.
And I ended with a heap of burlap pennants.  (YAY!)
I lined up the pennants in a row and got out my ball of hemp....
Then, I used hot glue to attach the hemp to the back of the pennants along the top.
The next part of the project was even easier (if that's possible).
I got this handy pumpkin paper punch at the craft store (about $5.00 with a 40% off coupon!) ....
And I attacked a stack of Fall-colored scrapbook paper with it.
How adorable are those cutie-pie little pumpkins!?!

I attached them using double stick tape ....
(side note:  I could have used hot glue or something more permanent, but this way ... I figure I can just pop those pumpkins right off when Fall is over, and I still have a super-adorable burlap banner!)
Finished product!
I chose to hang it on this really cool old cupboard in my dining room (which I got from Kathleen at Faded Charm, by the way!).
Cool, huh?  :-)

So, meanwhile, I was also inspired by THIS project at That Village House .... and took an old frame and made a friend for my burlap banner:

Cut the burlap to fit the frame, attached with glue dots at the corners, then lined up the pumpkins and attached them with glue dots, as well (again, so I can easily pull it off later!)

Super cute! :-)
(It's hung in an iron wreath stand, by the way!)
I'm not big on the whole change-the-mantle-every-month thing (like every other person in blog land!?) .... I have a very big mantle on a very big stone fireplace ... and it pretty much stays the same all the time - unless it's Christmas!  So ... this little cabinet-top in my dining room is my version, I guess ...
Hope you like it ... I'm lovin' it! :-)
Thanks for stickin' with me through that long, iphone-photo-filled post!
I think I'll have one more burlap bunting project to show you soon, too .....  And I can't wait to see what you do with YOURS! :-)

I selected this project as my BEST DIY of October at Beneath My Heart ... go check it out! :-)
