Little Bit of Life: Guilty Pleasure

It's Monday.
Monday = my guilty pleasure TV night.

Don't judge.
I watch this (semi-ridiculous) show.
Okay, it's probably more than semi-ridiculous.

But here's the thing.
It's become a tradition for Dani and I to watch the Bachelor/Bachelorette together EVERY Monday night for the past (?) years!

You've "met" Dani here before a few times.
Here we are in Disneyland a couple of months ago.
We have a mutual love obsession with Disneyland.  We've already been together twice, just in the last couple of years!  (no, that is NOT her real hair .... and no, I do not make it a habit of wearing hats with sparkling hoses sticking out of them, either)

Dani is my honorary littlest sister.
I was actually her volleyball coach when she was in high school .... and then she started riding/showing one of my horses....
(There she is with Lucy on Ace!)

.... and somewhere along the way, she became like family around here.
And she is one of Lucy's most FAVORITE people on the planet.

Now that Dani is "all grown up" and in college, we don't get to see each other as much anymore .... and so we totally look forward to our Bachelor/ette nights!

We wait until Scott and Lucy are in bed ..... and then we shut ourselves up in the bonus room -- armed with brownies, ice cream, popcorn, Cocoa Puffs, or whatever other junk food strikes our fancy that night -- and watch our show on the big screen.

And we love it.

This particular season, however....?
I'm disgusted.
First of all, Ben just doesn't do it for me.
(Not that that really matters .... but it's just my opinion.)
And second of all, Courtney?
She makes me want to throw things at my TV.

But I have decided that perhaps they deserve each other.
We'll find out if I'm right about that soon enough!

Any other crazy Bachelor-watchers out there...?
(Or should I say .... any others willing to ADMIT they are crazy Bachelor-watchers!?:)~

P.S.  Guess what?  Dani just got ENGAGED!!!  She is getting married (which I canNOT believe!?) and I am SO SO SO excited for her ..... so if you follow my Pinterest boards -- especially my "Wedded Bliss" board -- Dani is the reason for all of my new pins lately!  I'm so thrilled to be helping her plan her wedding! :-)

P.P.S.  Today is my hubby's birthday - and he is STILL in the hospital.  In case you haven't "liked" the Little Lucy Lu facebook page and therefore, haven't seen the updates .... he ended up having to go into emergency surgery on Friday evening.  The infection in his shoulder was much worse than the doctor's originally thought.  (They even said there could have been a very real possibility of him losing the use of his arm permanently!  YIKES!)  Thank you all for your sweet comments and your prayers and well-wishes!  :-)

  2. We've been known to catch an episode here or there in our house. The show is beyond ridiculous. The first season will never be able to be repeated. Still, it's a funny guilty pleasure.

  3. Happy birthday to the hubs and hope he is feeling better each day. :)

The night you described above? Heavenly. I want one of those nights here each week. You made it sound so great that I actually sighed out loud. :) I am lucky enough to have an almost 12 year old who loves to watch bad (tween friendly) reality tv with me and I hope as she grows older, she still wants to do this. But I think we just might have to add the brownies to the mix next time!

  4. I will admit that I watch the bachelor/bachelorette every season. I love all the silly fun drama. I agree that Ben is the worst bachelor yet and he doesn't do it for me either! Can someone get that boy a haircut??! Haha Him and Courtney do deserve each other and I believe he will choose her.

Sorry to hear about your husband. Thank goodness he got it taken care of in time! Prayers for a quick recovery!

  5. Yes, Monday nights = Bachelor nights for me too!! Skyler hates it. :) I lost all respect for Ben around episode 5 and I think he and courtney totally deserve each other. But you're right, she makes me want to throw things at those puckered lips every time she says something nasty!!!

And, wow. So sorry to hear about Scott!!! So crazy/scary! Hope his hospital birthday is able to be enjoyable still!

  6. I have to admit that i am a Ridiculous Bachelor watcher(Brenna and I because Cholie is too mature for us..hahaha). I have to admit this isn't one of my favorite episodes either. I don't think he's very smart and probably deserves Courtney.

So sorry to hear about Scott and I hope he is doing better...Scary!!!

Hope to see you sometime soon:-)

  7. I have similar feelings about Courtney. But I wonder about this season??? No "Women tell all???? or did I miss something?
If there's been no women tell all, then it's all about the ratings. And admittedly, as much as that girl drives me nuts, I can't stop watching. That's most likely because I wanna roll the red carpet out when she finally gets she's not "winning!"

  8. Have fun watching the Bachelor! ... I wish I had a clue what you are talking about, but my guilty pleasure is BRAVO! Yep. I am admitting it... I am a BRAVO junkie and I watch ALL of the Housewives except Atlanta because THAT show is a complete misrepresentation of the South! Seriously though, tonight I will be watching The Real Housewives of the OC! Yea! Cant wait! :)

  9. prayers for your hubby still...we have had our share of hospital and doctor fun this week too. if i can find the words in a week or so i may try to blog about it. in the mean time, I am totally trying to get myself out of my funk with a good dose of trash tv. i am hooked on the bachelor and my hubby watches with me. I cant stand Ben...I dont want to talk too bad about him, but I dont think he's all that and a bag of chips. As for Courtney, it makes me sad to see her be so deceptive and hurtful to the other girls. I do love this show, but this season has been hard to watch. I loved Casey B!!

  10. Guilty! I watch the Bachelor and I'm just as disgusted as you. When Kasie B. left I was heartbroken. I honestly thought that he was going to pick her. I was FLOORED. Speechless. I think he sent her home because her parents are "traditionalists" and didn't want them living together before they were married. He doesn't have those values, and she was on the chopping block from that moment on. I knew he was going to send her home. I think he deserves Cortney... he is shallow. But because I do care a little for the guy, I hope he picks Lindzi. She's a great girl!

  11. Okay----fun stuff first:
I have a secret obsession with the Bachelor too..... and I completely agree--- Ben=YUCK and Courntey== double YUCK! I really think he got rid of all of the good girls.... just saying! Ugghhh each season I think that there is no way I will watch the next one and then there I am ready as ever for episode one... thinking shoot I have done it again! Buttttt it is kind of a guilty pleasure and it is the perfect time to load up with snacks and just "indulge"!
    Anddd the serious stuff:
Ohhh I am so so sorry your hubby is in the hospital! I cannot imagine how hard that must be for your family. I will be praying for you guys! {I already have been cause I read on your facebook to}. But you guys hang in there and let me know if there is anything I can do :o)
