Baby Update: 30 Weeks!

Woohoo!
We've made it to the 30s!  Soooooo exciting!!!
Hard to believe there will only be (at most!) five more of these baby updates!

BABY STATS:
Max weighs around 3 pounds and is about 18 inches long! (according to my What To Expect app)
Lucy was only 18 inches long at birth (and 5 lbs. 12 oz.), so it's hard to say whether or not Max is growing according to "average" or if he's gonna be a little guy, too!?  We'll know soon enough, I guess!
Meanwhile, Max is spending his days making faces, hiccupping, swallowing, sucking his thumb, and pedaling around my uterus!  What fun! :-)

MAMA STATS:
Speaking of pedaling around my uterus ... yeah.  Those feet are hanging out in my ribs a lot these days ... not so comfy.  I can tell things are beginning to get squished into places they're not used to being -- my stomach isn't happy unless I eat about half the food I'm used to eating, and breathing is getting a tad more difficult, too (if I actually do more than walk across the room, anyway).

On a very positive note, I mentioned last time I was about to have my glucose test ... no gestational diabetes!  WOOT!
Not sure why I was worried I would have it, but I'm very thankful I don't.  Just reading about it stressed me out!  (Kudos to all you ladies who manage that every day!)

If I haven't mentioned it before, I'm taking the whole school year off ... so it has been a very strange-feeling couple of weeks for me!  I'm not used to being home all day in September!  And I'm not used to not being stressed to the gills with teaching AND coaching (and adjusting to a new schedule) this time of year.
I am LOVIN' it.
And I'm especially loving not leaving my little Lucy every day to go to work.
I am SO thankful to have this time with her ... it makes me emotional, thinking about the fact that it will no longer be "just us" very soon.  (I know SHE won't mind that a bit, but it's bound to be an adjustment for all of us!)

LUCY STATS:
One of my favorite parts of every day is bedtime when Lucy wraps her arms around my tummy, smothers it in kisses and says "Sweet dreams, Max!  I love you to the moon and back and then some more!"
Ah!  It doesn't get any better than that, folks!
She is just such a sweetie, and I love HER to the moon and back and then some more!

It's time to start planning her big 4th birthday party, too!  We are having fun, mulling over ideas.  (Well, really, that just means I throw out suggestions and she says "YES!  I want an (insert any given theme) party!" She's not a lot of help ... but at least I know she'll be happy with just about anything! :-)

Looking forward to telling you more about the big birthday party in the upcoming month or two ... :-)

Hope all you wonderful readers are doing well -- I've been trying to get back into the habit of blog-reading on a more regular basis, so I can keep track of what ya'll are up to!

  1. You are adorable as always Bec! ;) Yep, the adjustment from one to two was VERY difficult for me. Mostly because I just felt so bad for Ally.
She was so used to being the only one and it was so easy to make her feel loved when it was just her...I felt like it was really a hard transition for her! And all of us. Luckily Lucy is much older than Ally was so she will probably do fine! SO exciting!

  3. Yay for 30 weeks!!! I haven't posted an update yet myself. Wow Lucy WAS tiny. My boys were 9 lbs 7oz and 8lbs 11oz, so when I read my baby center app I think... or bigger! I'm excited to see how close together we have these babes! :)

I am sure he will be an adorable, itty bitty boy and I am keeping my fingers crossed for you your delivery is easier ( and by easier I mean you get to get used to the idea your actually in labor : ) so weird to not have you at school each day to catch up with! I am missing you tons and yet I couldn't be happier for you!
