How do these two weeks between baby updates go by so fast???
It seems I was just grumbling about posting my last photo ... and now here I am, having to do it again! :)~
So hard to believe.
These weeks have flown by ... (even if those early weeks seemed to d-r-a-g on at times).
Max weighs over 4 lbs. and is around 18 inches long ... and ironically, my iPhone update app says this week, he is roughly the size of a small pumpkin! Ha! Talk about good timing! :-)
He can now open and close his eyes, and he continues to put on layers of fat.
The GREAT news this week is - babies born between 34 and 37 weeks, though they may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery or have a few short-term health issues, usually do as well as full-term babies! What a relief to know Max could be born now -- and be just fine! :-)
Max continues to move around a little less than he has the past couple months ... but gosh, sometimes when he does move -- OUCH! He's just about dropped me to my knees a couple of times!
And good grief! ...does this little guy have a WHOLE lot of hiccups!!! This morning, between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m., he had hiccups three times! (And yes, they seem to hit the most in the wee hours of the morning when I'd rather be sleeping!:)~
I'm still feeling really good!
I have a decent amount of energy (nesting time!:)~ and still can't say that I'm too terribly uncomfortable. (Although, it IS getting a little challenging to put on pants .... and socks .... and boots.)
And yes, I did ask my three-year-old to take off my boots yesterday! Ha! I bet that was a pretty entertaining sight!
My hips are starting to bug me a little bit ... but honestly, it's nothing compared to how uncomfortable I was when I was pregnant with Lucy! I finally had to break down and go to a chiropractor during her pregnancy!
I'm even sleeping pretty darn well! I'm usually wide awake by 4:00 a.m., but I figure that's just good preparation for what's to come, anyway. :)~
But all-in-all ... compared to those women out there with heartburn and back pain and gestational diabetes and itchiness and all of that NOT FUN stuff, I have absolutely nothing to complain about!
Sometimes I wonder, too, if this time - in light of what it took to get here - I just don't let the little stuff bother me as much.
The bottom line is ... I'm so darn thankful to BE pregnant, I don't dare complain one bit. I'd take any and all negative side effects ... happily. (easier said than done, I'm sure ... especially given I don't have any:)~
Hmmmm ... what's new with Lucy?
Mostly, just being her usual entertaining self!
We've been visiting pumpkin patches (there's even some pictures posted here from last week, in case you missed it!), and I'll have some more to show you in the next day or two. :-)
We seem to have a daily conversation about the order of future (major) events/holidays.
This little girl has a LOT of excitement coming up! :-)
I'm not sure which thing she's most excited for!?
When she hugs and kisses Max at bedtime (now complete with a "nose kiss" and a "butterfly kiss" in addition to the regular kind), she wishes him a "Happy Thanksgiving", too. ("Happy Holidays" was last week!:)~
She's gonna be such a great big sis! :-)
A couple other important things to note:
**I know. The nursery post is STILL not up. But I DID give you a sneak peak on Facebook ... did you see it?
**Later this week, I will be hosting another FABULOUS giveaway from one of my favorite online boutiques ... Shabby Apple! Stay tuned and be sure to check back often! :-) This is gonna be a good one!!! :-)
See you soon!
