Max = 7 Months!

Yep, it's been a whole month since I blogged.
Pathetic.

And I'm officially starting to D-R-E-A-D this monthly post, because it means another month has gone by . . . WAY too fast!.

Six months?  I could handle that.
Seven months . . . not so much.
We're on the downhill slide to a YEAR now, and I can't say I'm too happy about that.

. . . Except for the fact that this little man is getting to be so much fun, now that he's a little older!

Here's what he's up to this month . . .

It's not a check-up month, so I just had to guess his weight this time!
He's eating fairly well (though I wouldn't call him a big eater), but the sweet potatoes and pears he still chomps down like no other!

He's (finally) sleeping 10+ hours at night -- HOORAY!
(Now if I could just get mySELF used to sleeping ALL night!: )~
And he's also able to sit up on his own for an extended period of time without falling over -- (still crashes pretty hard when he does topple over though!  I try to keep the boppy pillow behind him as much as possible!)
I thought perhaps I'd be reporting on his first tooth this month, but no luck there!  Poor little guy is just chewing and chewing and chewing on everything in sight . . . I know it's got to be coming soon!

No crawling yet, either, but he can get from one end of the room to the other in about 10 seconds!  Rollin', rollin', rollin' . . . and head plowing.  : )~  He just doesn't seem to be able to get the arms and legs working at the same time -- he either pushes up with one or the other, but never both at the same time!
(Personally, I hope he holds off on the crawling for at least another couple of months!  I'm not quite ready to bust out the baby gates yet! :-)

The most fun addition this month is him babbling "dada ... dada ... dada" all day long!
He will say "mama" randomly here and there, too, but 99% of the time, "dada" is his word of choice! (Not that he knows what he's saying yet! . . . unless you ask Daddy: )~

Max continues to be the happiest baby on the planet, I think.
When I was taking this month's pictures this week, I snapped probably 50 pictures in 4-5 minutes.  I think there were about TWO that he wasn't smiling in.

How on earth do you pick a favorite?
He has earned his nickname "Smiley" for a reason!

Here's the laundry basket photo-of-the-month:

The squishier it gets in there, the happier he seems to get, too! : )~
He was just laughing during this whole thing -- he actually hung out in there for about 10 minutes, chewing on his toes, after I was done taking the picture!

This collage makes me sad!  Too much proof at how old (and big!) he really is getting!

I promise.  PROMISE.  I will post again soon.
I am more-or-less a single parent right now -- the hubs is working a couple hours from home (near the beach), and stays most nights at the job site . . . and even if he comes home, it's not until after 8:00, so - aside from Sundays, we really don't get to see him. : {  BOO!  Not my favorite.  At least this particular job will be done in a few months.
They are bound to be three l-o-n-g months for me, though!

With a baby and a busy four-year-old -- and horses and cows and 20 acres -- this mama does NOT have a lot of free time in the day (or sanity!) leftover.

On the upside . . . the kids and I will hopefully be spending a lot of time at the beach this summer!  We hope to stay down there with Scott a couple of nights a week . . . we'll see how it goes, lugging all of our paraphernalia back and forth all the time!

BUT.  It is my goal to blog more this summer, so . . . we'll see how that goes, too! : )~

One place I DO hang out often these days is Instagram!
